Software Engineer

About The Position

Dragontail Systems is the leading B2B company of revolutionary optimization software for the food and delivery industry with a global presence. 

Recently joined YUM! Brands, a company with over 52,000 restaurants in more than 150 countries and territories primarily operating the company’s restaurant brands – KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and The Habit Burger Grill.  


As a Software Engineer, you will be a key member of the computer vision team and will be responsible for creating and maintaining high performance machine vision applications such as camera controllers, image and video analysis and integration with point of sale (POS) system.

You will be working closely with data scientists, developers and the operations team. You are expected to lead the development of the applications, including choices of tools, practices and design.

Requirements

  • 3+ years backend and/or desktop development experience 
  • Expert level in Python – a must 
  • Experience in a compiled language e.g Go, C++, Java, C or other 
  • Experienced designing and building web APIs 
  • Experience developing application in a Linux environment  
  • Experience building and optimizing Docker images

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Experience with front end development
  • Experienced high-performance applications 
  • In depth knowledge in preparing Linux machine image (networking, partitions, users, security, kiosk users, etc)  
  • Experience with AWS – Other cloud providers are well regarded as well 
  • Experience building computer vision applications – an advantage
  • Experience and knowledge cameras hardware/software
